About

I’m an American twenty-something with a deep and abiding love for all things Sherlock Holmes.

About Me: A knitting fiend and book reviewer with a degree in professional communication, who writes The Detective and The Woman mysteries and podcasts with the Baker Street Babes.

How I First Encountered Sherlock Holmes: I checked an audiobook out of the library when I was eight or nine and remember being incredibly creeped out by “The Speckled Band” and heartbroken by the Fall, until my sister took pity on me and spoiled the fact that Holmes lived on.

  1. A good read, for sure. Thoroughly enjoyable and demonstrably written by someone who is conversant with the great Consulting Detective. I will bring it to the attention of our Sherlock group in the Fort Myers/cap Coral area (sub. nom. “Sherlock Holmes’ Dumber Brothers”)

    • Thank you! I would love to get involved with the group if that’s possible. Do you have regular meetings?

  2. Hey Amy,
I just read you review of Dan’s “No police like Holmes” and liked it very much! Would you consider reviewing another crime novel – Victorian era, feat. Sherlock Holmes, writing style un-Doylean, althought Alistair Duncan finds my Holmes “pretty Doylean”, er… what did I want to say?
Ok, I’d be pretty much jumping in circles (screaming) if you’d give my book try, or even a review.
Its now available for free on Smashwords:

  4. Hi Amy,

Would you like to review my book in which a working class Holmes from the North East of England teams up with his court-appointed psychologist to solve a series in and around Middlesbrough?

    Cheers

    Mel
